FAQ.

The goal of this FAQ page is to answer a wide array of questions around my private and professional persona in no particular order. While some questions I get asked a lot, other questions are here just for fun.

What differentiates you from the average digital marketing professional?

Feraz Zeid - Having funI have an entrepreneurial background which allows me to think out-of-the-box and make decisions independently when required. It allows me to use resources more efficiently and I bring with me a strong sense of urgency. Furthermore, I have evolved from a specialist, which means that I can actually do all the things I expect from others, which allows me to gain instant respect internally and from external partners. I have a background in customer service which I can translate into working with customers. Last but not least, my experience in the financial markets has trained me to be analytical and comfortable with numbers.

What is your ideal job?

I am looking for a digital marketing position where I have the possibility to work on the whole marketing funnel with all its components from traffic acquisition to customer retention.  While I do enjoy some of the specialist tasks such as social media advertising, in digital marketing the outcome is only as good as its weakest link. In order to really enjoy my work, I would need to have the possibility to have a direct influence on all of the digital components and processes. In some companies, a specialist is doing this job and in other companies, this is the job of the chief marketing officer. Having access to a great digital marketing team to accelerate the progress would, of course, be a great advantage.

Where are you from originally?

I grew up in the German part of Switzerland, namely in the St. Gallen region. I was born in Russia. My father is from Jordan.

In which cities have you lived?

I lived in St.Gallen, Bern, Zurich, Geneva, Dubai, Amman and Moscow.

What languages do you speak?

In the recent years, I have primarily spoken English. Normally, German should be my best language, but I do not get to speak it a lot anymore which worries me a little. The same is true for my Swiss German. I still speak Russian fluently, but I have developed a terrible accent by now. My French, hm, let me say it this way, I can get around if I have to. What about Arabic? 200 words or so?

Are you married?

No, not yet. I have moved a lot in the recent years and somehow did not manage to stick around long enough to meet someone. I also never felt like I was in a hurry. I am not sure how I feel about it right now. Lots of things are changing right now so ask me again later.

Why is there no German language content on this site?

There was German language content here until recently. However, updating content in two languages is too time-consuming with no real ROI. So I have reduced it to English. The same is true for my LinkedIn account.

Why do you live in Geneva?

Feraz Zeid - GenevaThis story goes way back. I initially planned on joining a university in the United States after completing my high school degree in St.Gallen. However, things changed unexpectedly and I decide to join an American university in Geneva, instead. Initially, the plan was two stay for 2 years before transferring to the US. However, I fell in love with this city. I have left Geneva for many years at a time but whenever I am back in Switzerland, this is the city of my choice. I prefer the culture here. I think it is a great international environment. However, Zurich is a very close second. Lugano is great, too.

Would you relocate?

The short answer is: Yes, for the right opportunity. The long answer is: For a more senior opportunity in digital marketing or for an opportunity related to blockchain technolgy, I would very seriously consider relocating within Switzerland and maybe even internationally.

On your CV you are mentioning the project Socially Famous Digital Marketing. Can you tell me more?
